The incident where Valya Harkonnen used the voice comes from someone called the Mentats of Dune. All three books link the evolution of the sisters, Mentats, Navigators, and Suk doctors. I don’t want to criticize just the first episode of a TV show, but it was just average on every level. The acting was worse than some of the big actors like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams and possibly Travis Fimmel.
The story was very loose and the dialogue was not worthy
The rest of the cast felt like they were fresh out of a film academy or something. I love slow dramas that take forever to set up because I know it’s worth the wait. But it wasn’t just slow, there was a lot going on, it was just boring, I don’t know how else to describe it. The soundtrack that roamed the films was a little off here and there, there were familiar sounds here and there but the timing was just off.
My question is, did he even like it being made?
Like I was listening to a lot of music here that had no impact. I remembered how long we had been on set, just people talking, and then boom, Hans Zimmer does magic and I was just so excited. But I know he wasn’t involved in the sounds here and I don’t even need to check. I’m not sure if Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not.
Food for thought
Will such a mediocre TV show after two epic films have an impact on the long-awaited third film? I’m curious because The Penguin was so good that it made me appreciate Batman even more than I did after watching it, and I can’t wait for the second film. How will Dune: Prophecy affect the third film, if there is one at all?
